Transcription: The house appears to hover over the ground, carefully inserted between the trees. Hoping to minimize the house's impact on the landscape, only six or seven trees were removed and a partial basement was dug. In fact, some trees come right through the deck, intruding a bit on our sense of what's inside and what's outside. The lattice continues that ambivalence.
